Young Arts provides exciting opportunities for children and young people to expand their horizons through their involvement in creative arts activities.
At The Arts Society Abingdon we have a very strong commitment to Young Arts and have supported, and still support, many art based projects
We support Clear Sky,the mental health children's charity, based in Little Wittenham. They offer a range of Play and Creative Art Therapy support services to children, their families and to schools. We also support DAMASCUS,the local charity that helps troubled teenagers. Recently we gave them £600 to make a mosaic in Drayton Village Hall.
Further Recent Art Projects that we have supported:
* £200 to The Bridge,an Abingdon mental health charity for teenagers.
* £300 to Rush Common Primary School,Abingdon,to help pay for an artist in residence to work with the children to make a "Welcome to Rush Common School" mosaic as part of their Golden Jubilee celebrations.
* £100 to Abingdon Museum for Art and Craft materials for their children's art days.
* £600 to Carswell School,Abingdon,to make an Art Gallery to display their work and another donation to refurbish a dedicated room for art and craftwork.
